AeroBed

"I have to admit that I didn't really believe that you could have a good nights sleep on an inflatable bed - I was wrong!  Everyone who has slept on my AeroBed can't believe how comfortable it is and most of them have ended up buying one themselves.  The speed with which it inflates is incredible also but best of all, I can pack it away in two minutes and keep it in the cupboard under the stairs.  What a great invention!"

Laura Oakley, Sheffield

"I was given this bed last year and now I can't imagine how I ever coped without it! It really does inflate in less than a minute, it's amazingly comfortable and best of all it's easy to deflate and pop back into the bag in the morning. I only have one spare room for guests at home but with the AeroBed I can now have twice as many people staying round as before. I also take it with me when I travel and am planning to buy a king size for my in-laws this Christmas. Top marks!"

Jamie Robinson, Northampton

"Buying an AeroBed has changed my life.   I can now offer my friends a night of comfort when they stay over! The inflatability of the AeroBed is incredible and deflating it is great fun! I can honestly say this is the best inflatable sleeping solution I have ever experienced."
Lucy Eaton, Nottingham

"The AeroBed for Children provides the perfect solution for my daughter's seemingly endless schedule of sleepovers!"
Jonathan Coulson, St Albans

"Who said making the bed was a chore? is it full of air or bubbles - it is so comfortable!"
Rachel Morgan, Norwich

"I just wanted to send you guys a note to say how great my AeroBed is.  I slept on it for the first time the other night and actually slept better than I do when I'm at home, what a great product I shall be telling all of my friends to buy one!"
Marie Turner, London

"What a fantastic product!  The man in the shop said that it would give my guests the best nights sleep possible without using a normal bed…. I have to say that the feedback from last weekends guests fully endorses this."
Daniel Parsons, Edgware

"My AeroBed has come into it's own since I moved in to a bigger house and found myself short of beds. I got my Dad, who has a bad back to come and stay and help me put up shelves and fit an outside tap! He was reluctant at first but found the AeroBed so comfortable he is telling all his friends & he wants to stay on it every time he visits!"
Alec Mellor, Thatcham

"This is the best alternative to a guest bed I can think of... and it's cheaper than a sofa bed or futon and a million times more comfortable! We have great fun at parties inflating and deflating it - so much so it often becomes the main focus of the party (maybe I need to get some new friends!).  A large part of my evening is spent stopping people fighting over who gets to sleep on the AeroBed as opposed to the sofa bed. Everyone loves it!"
Sarah Mayall, West Bridgford

"I night in a strange bed used to mean a bad nights sleep and a miserable next day!  My AeroBed has changed all that and I can't wait until my next way trip!"
Daniel Truscott, Watford

"Our AeroBed is fantastic.  Really easy to put up (and fun too, the kids love it!) and unbelievably comfortable, people actually fight now over who gets to sleep in it, much better than the sofa.  We'd recommend it to anyone, and have!"

Lisa Mangan, London

"I was delighted that it was as easy to inflate in real life as it was in the shop.  Being the same height as a real bed certainly looks impressive (as does the super quick inflation) but what I really love is the comfort - it's really firm but soft. How does that work…? Amazing."

Laura Jenner, Harrow

"A good night's sleep with the spine maintained in a comfortable and relaxed posture is crucial to your health and well-being.  Having experienced the AeroBed for myself, I would certainly recommend one to my patients."

Dr Paul Connery, Putney Chiropractic Centre, London

"My Aerobed proved a real hit at my son's sleepover. They all slept like
logs - thank you for a peaceful night."

Isla MacKinder, Benfleet

"Great for those late night unexpected guests! Enables me to live in a city centre but still entertain guests without the need for a second bedroom."

James Belcher, Brigstock

"I have to stay over at work once a month which means trying to sleep on an uncomfortable fold up bed, then a friend recommended AeroBed.  I can't believe how much it feels like a real bed.  "Thank you for saving me from the camp bed and giving me back my precious sleep!"

Samantha Rosenthal, Maida Vale

"I am loving my new AeroBed. It's so easy to use and it means I can have friends over to stay whenever I want even in my one bedroom flat, and as an added bonus it actually really comfortable!"

Monique Jessen, Pinner

"Finally I'm able to entertain overnight guests despite the absence of a second bedroom in my flat. I can rest my head guilt-free too, secure in the knowledge that visiting family and friends won't suffer from back ache or dark circles under their eyes."

Leonard Burns, Crouch End

How it works

Buy a bed
Purchase the bed that best suits your needs from
leading retailers or from www.aerobed.co.uk. The beds can be either mattress height or full height and all of them (except the AeroBed for Children) are available in single, double and king-size. Click here for comparisons.

Inflating the bed
Integrated Electric Pump
Simply remove from the packaging, and plug the pump cord into a standard electrical socket.  Press the inflate button on the remote control for up to 60 seconds (3 mins for full height beds) or until you achieve the desired inflation.  The AeroBed will never over-inflate. Remember to ensure the outlet valve is closed (if applicable) before inflating. Full instructions are available with the bed. Firmness can be adjusted at the touch of a button on the remote control.

Rechargeable pump (For AeroBed Active)
Once the pump has been charged for 24 hours (initially). Remove the cap from the valve, then simply attach the pump to the valve and twist a quater turn to the right. Keep the pump twisted to the right for up to 60 seconds or until the desired firmness level has been reached. The AeroBed will never over inflate. Once inflated, turn the pump back to the starting position and remove from the valve. Firmness can be adjusted at the push of a button on the valve.

Battery Operated pump (For AeroBed Sleepover)
Remove the battery cover and insert 4 new D Cell alkaline batteries (not included), then close the cover and open the protective cap on the valve. Press the mouth of the pump into position and turn the pump on. Make sure that you have put the 'inflate' mouth to the valve and not the 'deflate' mouth.

Deflating the bed

Air Release Valve (For all AeroBeds excluding the Platinum Range)
Open the patented air release valve and the AeroBed will instantly deflate in 60 seconds (1 minute for raised products).  Roll it up and store it away in the AeroBed bag until it's needed next.

Automated via pump (For Platinum Range)
Simply press the deflate button on the hand-held remote control and the bed will fully deflate in 60 seconds (3 minutes for raised products). All air is expelled though the pump which makes packing away far easier than other Airbeds, simply roll it up and store away in the AeroBed bag until it's needed next.

Construction

All mattress height beds are built using quadra-coil technology and the raised beds are made using a twin chamber channel construction. The Aerobed Platinum and Platinum Raised however are built with comfort zone technology which is proven to eliminate pressure points and promote healthy spinal alignment.

These methods segment the air creating a firmer and stronger support compared to a standard air bed.

Great uses for your AeroBed:

  • Escaping from your partner's snoring
  • Instantly changing your study into a guest bedroom
  • Taking with you on a cheap holiday so you can double up on rooms with friends
  • Using as your permanent bed whilst a student ensuring you never have to endure another night on a friend's floor
  • Replacing the travel cot for 'grown up' kids
  • Impressing your mates at how quickly the bed inflates
  • Sleepovers

Company History

  • Aero Products International are the market leader in premium, air-filled beds in the US. It was founded in 1992 when an innovative way to quickly inflate and deflate air mattresses was patented.  After much research and development, the original AeroBed® was born, bringing 'the comfortable, adjustable, extra bed in a minute' to consumers for the first time.
  • The UK company was set up in 1999 and is currently based in West London.
  • Originally only available in the UK as mail order, AeroBeds are now available in selected retail stores throughout Britain including John Lewis, Argos, Furniture Village, Dreams, Tescos, British Home Stores, Selfridges, Harrods, Bentalls and Beales.
  • AeroBed has continued to improve and adapt its inflation/deflation technology and exceptional quality, now offering a range of beds designed to give a great night's sleep.

Key personalities

Julian Williams, Managing Director
Joined AeroBed:  August, 2005

Julian's first job was sales and marketing in the European markets for Allied Domecq plc. He completed an MBA at Cranfield School of Management and joined Accenture as a strategy consultant where he worked with blue chip clients on business and corporate strategy. The challenge of business turnaround drew him back to the coalface where he had been involved as Managing Director transforming a number of businesses, including Artesian Innovation, Pollak, Bacardi-Lion and now AeroBed®.

Julian was an instant fan of the AeroBed® product - He and his partner slept on an AeroBed® Premier Cotton when moving into their new flat in London and have found it hard to change back to a more traditional mattress.

"It's brilliant when you get to work with a brand that really delivers. The AeroBed® has that Wow factor where people instantly say 'I want one of those!'

"It is so far removed from the bed that my mate's dad used to blow up using the car exhaust when we went camping!"

Robert Farrall, Sales Director
Joined AeroBed: April, 2004

Rob is a sales and marketing professional with almost 20 years experience working in the retail industry. From his first area sales role in the cosmetics industry, to his current exciting position at AeroBed®, Rob has built a wealth of experience with particular expertise in design-led luxury goods and consumer durables.

Rob's first experience of an airbed was at university, sleeping over in another student's room after a particularly 'liquid' night out. Unfortunately, Rob was just not up to the 30 minutes of foot pumping to inflate the bed and to this day is not telling us where he slept that night!

Simon Robinson, New Business Manager
Joined AeroBed: October, 2005

Simon has over 10 years' retail marketing experience working for Currys and MFI. He originally joined AeroBed® on a temporary contract as Marketing Manager and when he was subsequently offered to extend his contract to set up a new website he jumped at the chance.

"Marketing the AeroBed® has got to be the easiest job in the world as it sells itself - you just have to inflate it, show it to people and they then say 'I want one!'

Simon has had numerous experiences sleeping on airbeds, but says that these experiences have followed "long evenings of intense socialising" and consequently his recollection is somewhat jaded.

Martyn Hughes, European Sales Manager
Joined AeroBed: March, 2006

Martyn has spent 16 years developing his Sales and Marketing skills for Pfizer and Unilever.

During this time he has worked across several different trade channels whilst gaining exposure to international business development.  He is relishing the challenge to extend the AeroBed® success story into new markets across Europe.

Like most people, prior to discovering AeroBed, Martyn's previous experience of airbeds involved half an hour of exhausting inflating followed by a very unsatisfactory (and un-stable) night's sleep.
We can sympathise!

Scott Bower, Marketing Manager
Joined AeroBed: December, 2005

Scott has degrees in Commerce (Marketing & International Business) and Science.  Combine that with a successful track record in the Blue Chip drinks industry, and you get some idea why Scott has been such a hit at AeroBed® since joining.

Having travelled extensively, Scott vowed he would never sleep on an air mattress again, such was the negative impression of all the airbeds he had tried.

That was before joining AeroBed®.  As part of his induction, Scott was given an AeroBed® and they have been friends ever since!

Scott's barometer of a great and unique product is one that he wants to tell his friends about and now the AeroBed® demonstration is a prerequisite for every party for his friends!

"It's an exciting time to be part of the company.  AeroBed® is growing quickly and there are many more innovative ideas for the UK and European markets and beyond."

Rekha Ladwa, Financial Controller
Joined AeroBed: November 2005
Rekha was born and educated in Kenya and has been in the UK since 1987 where she has gained a broad experience of accounting, sales and marketing, working in companies such as BASF, Magic Travel Group, Disney and Ralph Lauren.  During this time she gained her CIMA qualification after studying part time.

Rekha's first experience of sleeping on air bed was at her sister's house. "It took me 1 hour to inflate the bed using a foot pump!  It was a truly uncomfortable sleeping experience. Now, my whole family have AeroBeds!"

Estelle Colle, Financial Accountant

Estelle has an HND in Accountancy & Finance and a Masters in management from a top business school in Paris (ESM-A).  Her first role was in an audit firm in the Republic of Guinea.  She then worked for INMAC micro warehouse in Paris followed by SEDI in the Republic of Ireland and Vectone in London.

French-born Estelle is well travelled and knows a few things about airbeds.  She joined AeroBed® after seeing the product in John Lewis and she actually prefers to sleep on an AeroBed® instead of a standard mattress, as it helps with her asthma.  She frequently shows off her AeroBed®  to her friends to the extent that she is now known as the 'AeroBed® Girl!'

Onnika Van Boheemen, Marketing Assistant
Joined AeroBed: September 2005

Onnika was born in Perth, Western Australia and has been in the UK since July 2005.  Extensive travelling gave her a somewhat negative experience of air beds "I spent a month travelling around Europe sleeping on a lilo.  I wish I had known about the Aerobed back then.  I may have actually got some sleep."

Onnika has a bachelor of business degree majoring in marketing and hospitality management.
